Morphological and molecular identification of fungi for their association with postharvest fruit rots in some selected citrus species

چکیده
Purpose: The availability of fresh Citrus fruits is limited by their susceptibility to invasion microbial pathogens which leads cause serious postharvest losses. present study was carried out isolate and morphologically identify fungal associations from selected fruit species (C. sinensis, C. limon, crenatifolia medica) confirm identity molecular characterization. Research method: Postharvest were isolated, identification done based on morphological characteristics. Confirmation through phylogenetic analysis newly generated ITS sequencing data. Further, frequency occurrence each calculated in three different districts Sri Lanka. Findings: From the identification, Collectrichum fructicola, gloeosporioides, Lasiodiplodia theobromae, Aspergillus niger Pestalotiopsis sp. recorded sinensis. Neofusicoccum parvum, gigasporium clavatus isolated crenatifolia. theobromae L. pseudotheobromae only association limon medica species, respectively. It worthwhile noting that this first report limitations: Since research mainly focused isolation potential associations, pathogenicity evaluation could not be out. Originality/Value: Findings disease causative agents citrus will valuable for agriculture sector, adopt practice effective strategies minimize losses fruits.

Identification of Phomopsis Species on Some Ornamental and Forest Plants in Iran on the Basis of the Morphological and Molecular
The Phomopsis is a genus of imperfect plant pathogenic fungus whose hosts comprise several species in different regions of the world, such as grapes, soybean, acacia, hollyhock, velvetleaf, and several other plants. In this study, samples collected from hollyhock, velvetleaf, purple bauhinia, and acacia plants suspected to be infected with Phomopsis fungi. Samples were culture...
متن کاملControl of postharvest decay of citrus fruit with calcium polysulfide
Incidence of green mold of citrus, caused by Penicillium digitatum, was reduced by 80% or more by the immersion of lemons or oranges for 1–4 min in warm (40.6–43.3°C) ‘liquid lime-sulfur’ (LLS) solution that contained 0.75% (wt vol) calcium polysulfide. The incidence of sour rot, caused by Geotrichum citri-aurantii, was reduced 35–70% by this treatment. LLS was similar in effectiveness to other...
متن کاملIdentification of some grass-associated species of Bipolaris, Curvularia and Exserohilum in selected regions of Iran
Infected tissues of roots and leaves of various grasses as well as soil around their rhizosphere were sampled from Fars, Golestan, Isfahan, Khorasan Shomali, Khorasan Razavi, Mazandaran and Semnan provinces (Iran). Based on morphological characteristics and available keys, four species of Bipolaris including B. austreliensis, B. indica, B. micropus and B. spicifera, four species of Curvularia i...
متن کاملMorphological and molecular study on some species of Phoma and related taxa in Iran
The genus Phoma Sacc. consists of important fungal plant pathogenic species occurring on economically important cultivated crops in spite of many other saprobic species. Thus, the aim of this study was to identify 35 isolates of Phoma species and related taxa collected from different hosts by means of morphological and molecular characters. Multi-locus phylogenetic analyses based on ITS1-5.8S-I...
متن کاملdetection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts
in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...
